How to Buy Last Minute Jersey Boys tickets in New York City

I just got off the phone with Karen from upstate New York. Karen has been searching the Internet for hours today trying to obtain tickets for Jersey Boys at the August Wilson Theater for this Saturday November 21, 2009. The 2pm performance.

Apparently she found seats that she liked from one of the dozens of web sites around except the ticket prices were over $200.00 each in the front mezzanine. When she asked me what I thought about the company she was going to buy from, I said I have heard of them. However before filling out her credit card and personal information on their shopping cart page form, I suggested that she make sure there were no "extra fees" for securing the seats. Unfortunately, until you give up your personal information and credit number, Karen really wouldn't know the final price to pay. This made her feel uncomfortable as often ticket company web sites display a "loss leader" price then tack on allot of fees. Especially for a hard to get show like Jersey Boys in New York.

I decided to do some research for Karen as our company Applause Ticket Agency in New York City is always looking to make a new customer whenever we can. As luck would have it, I simply made a call and within a few minutes was able to get the 5 tickets my new customer wanted. And in the first and second rows of the front mezzanine center section. These seats are often sold as premium seats commanding over $300 a piece. 4. Was the cancellation policy explained?

These questions and anything else you feel you might need to ask of the ticket agency are all fair questions for sure. Just make sure you feel comfortable with the person you are about to buy tickets from.

The music is by Bob Gaudio who was the Four Seasons musical writer for most of their songs. The lyrics are by their record producer Bob Crewe. Jersey Boys on Broadway has a fantastic book written by Marshall Brickman and Rich Elice. The running time is 2 and 1/2 hours long and the show plays every day but Mondays most weeks.

The show features the great music of the time like "Sherry", "Walk Like A Man", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" and about 20 others. It's truly great music and an excellent piece of theater.

Now would be a good time to see Jersey Boys on Broadway. Jersey Boys has played to sold out audiences for nearly 4 years now. After winning several 2006 Tony awards including Best Musical, Jersey Boys continues to please Broadway audiences as well as crowds that attend Jersey Boys in Las Vegas, Chicago, London and Australia.

Jersey Boys tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons rock n' roll band of the 60's and 70's. One of the biggest surprises for me in the past few years was Jersey Boys. I had avoided seeing the show for almost two years because to be perfectly honest I didn't think any show could live up to that much hype. That was the same reason I avoided seeing The Producers years ago. Not only was it worth the hype but it totally exceeded my expectations. What an amazing night in the theatre. Like most people who see the show I knew the music. What I didn't know was how much these four young guys from Jersey had to struggle to achieve their dreams. Jersey Boys on Broadway in the Summer of 2009

I got to see Jersey Boys with some complimentary tickets the producer gave my company when the show first started preview performances on October 4, 2005. I remember sitting in the first row center thinking if I were sitting any closer, they'd have to give me a part in the show. All kidding aside friends, I have seen lots of Broadway theater in my days selling tickets at Applause Theater Service but Jersey Boys is truly one of the greatest of all time. Why you might ask?

The story is a simple one really. It tells the story of a small group of New Jersey friends who mostly get into trouble time after time with the local law enforcement officials. The story is told by each member of a popular 60's and 70's rock n' roll band by the name of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

Jersey Boys was the winner of the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical and has sold out mostly every Broadway performance it has played. Jersey Boys recently opened in Las Vegas as well, doing big business at the box office. I went to see it when I was last out in Las Vegas just to witness how they handle their production as I had heard many theatrical productions often make the show less running time out there. Maybe it was a few minutes shorter but mostly the Las Vegas production stayed true to the Broadway version. It was very entertaining as well.

Some of the top songs you'll know if you liked music of the 60's and 70's are "Can't Take My Eyes off of You", "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Fallen Angel". You'll feel like you are at a concert where 30 songs that you'll recall will be played in a concert format along with a very interesting narration by the members of the band. The show is directed by Des McAnuff who does an outstanding job making you feel like you are aware of everything going on around you every step of the way during the career of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

Although the Jersey Boys production in New York City has been a tough ticket to get since it started playing, the shows advance sales seems to be slowing down a little (they all do). What this means is that obtaining tickets is becoming somewhat easier.

There are many ticket agencies that would lead you to believe that Jersey Boys tickets should cost you allot of money. But I would caution you to shop, take your time and simply compare seat locations and ticket prices.
